• This exhibition, organized by Geopark with the collaboration of the City Council of Manresa and the support of the Diputació de Barcelona, ??is consolidated as one of the most important assets in the promotion and commercialization of land and quality products.
On a day with a lot of atmosphere in Manresa, about 2,500 bagencs, bagenques and visitors attended the past Saturday 23rd of September at the 3rd Gastronomic Fair of the Geopark, an initiative that aims to promote responsible and sustainable food, betting on the quality and the Proximity to the origin of the products. The counselor of the Tourism Department, Josep Canals, says that "with projects such as this we can, on the one hand, strengthen the ties with producers and producers of agri-food products and, on the other, to promote and project the singularity and wealth of our cuisine ".
The attendees were able to visit a dozen of stalls of producers and producers of agri-food products in a day that took place in the Plana de l'Om. There, besides being able to buy the products directly, the visitors also enjoyed tasting and pairing. In this sense, Canals exposes that "the stalks have expressed their satisfaction about the development of the fair and their will to give continuity to this proposal." However, the director believes that "the change of location has made the fair to another public with regard to previous editions, but still we do a very positive assessment for the high number of attendees and the degree of commitment of the participating producers ".
The Geopark of Central Catalonia also had a corporate stand located in a strategic area that served as the centerpiece of the exhibition. From this information point, brochures and general information were provided to assistants, as well as more details about the Ignasiana gastronomy, the Manresa project 2022 and the tourist attractions of the Geopark. Therefore, the gastronomic fair not only served to strengthen the tourist potential of the area from the culinary point of view, but also to enhance the landscape, cultural and historical strength of the territory.
With promotional activities such as the gastronomic fair, the Geopark of Central Catalonia reaffirms its unequivocal commitment to a sustainable development of tourism. At the same time, the Regional Council of the Bages and the Geopark continues to work in a transversal way in the creation of quality tourist products. "The success of the call at a fair like this reinforces our objective of promoting the territory with innovative and competitive proposals," concludes Canals.
